Arsenal Maintain Contact Over January Move For Endrick
The Premier League leaders Arsenal are tracking Real Madrid forward Endrick ahead of the January transfer window.
Arsenal have maintained contact with Real Madrid forward Endrick as the Brazilian considers his future ahead of the January transfer window. The Gunners are reportedly interested in bringing the 20-year-old to north London, but negotiations could prove complicated due to differences over the structure of a potential deal.
According to a report from Calcio Mercato, Arsenal remain in contact with Endrick’s representatives after previously showing interest during the summer. Mikel Arteta’s side are prepared to explore a loan move, but would prefer an option to make the transfer permanent. Real Madrid, however, are understood to favour a straightforward loan without a purchase option, allowing the forward to still be contracted to the Spanish giants.
Endrick has struggled to establish himself under manager Jose Mourinho this season, starting just one La Liga match. Despite being highly rated by the Portuguese coach, regular opportunities have been difficult to come by, with competition for attacking places limiting his involvement. His lack of playing time has naturally attracted interest from elsewhere, with a January departure now being considered by his representatives.
According to the Spanish outlet AS, Endrick has yet to make a final decision about his future. He remains hopeful of earning a bigger role at Real Madrid following conversations with Mourinho, but recognises that regular football could be difficult to secure especially with the amount of attacking talent currently at Madrid.
Arsenal are not the only club monitoring the situation. Italian sides AC Milan and Roma are also interested, with both reportedly willing to offer the type of straight loan that Real Madrid would prefer. Endrick previously spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon, where he made 21 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing five assists. That spell gave him an opportunity to play regularly and prove his qualities on a big stage. Aston Villa are also tracking the Brazilian but prefer a permanent deal.
For Arsenal, his versatility is another attractive quality. The forward can operate through the middle or from wider attacking positions, potentially offering Arteta another option across the front line. The attack is an area Arsenal are desperate to improve on in the January window.
The Gunners are keen on a new attacker which can elevate their attacking options in January. This situation is in the early stages but will certainly be a story to keep an eye on as the window quickly approaches.
