FotMob Premier League Team of the Month: Evanilson, Rice and Jackson Stand Out With October Performances

Bournemouth forward Evanilson secured the highest average FotMob player rating for his performances across October in the Premier League, while Declan Rice and Nicolas Jackson also made the XI following impressive displays.

Another month of Premier League action has passed, but who impressed the most? Well, luckily, we have FotMob’s player ratings to answer that exact question.

Using those ratings, we’ve assembled our Premier League Team of the Month, with Opta data providing a deeper look at the performances behind the ratings.

Following an extended international break, Premier League action resumed on 10 October after two weekends off. Four matchdays have been played since, ending with Everton’s trip to face Newcastle on 2 November. This team picks out the highest performers between those dates.

Goalkeeper: Bart Verbruggen (Brighton) – 7.8

Bart Verbruggen kept three clean sheets across his four Premier League appearances in October – no goalkeeper in the competition collected more.

The last of those came in an exceptional 1-0 win at Manchester City on 31 October, helping Brighton secure their first-ever competitive win away at City at the 18th attempt. That match saw Verbruggen make seven saves at the Etihad Stadium; only one goalkeeper made more in a Premier League game between our eligible dates (Senne Lammens vs Chelsea – 8).

Overall, the Dutch goalkeeper saved 14 of the 15 shots on target he faced in the month, with his saves giving him a goals prevented value of 1.9 (one goal conceded from an xGOT of 2.9).

Left-Back: Andrew Robertson (Tottenham) – 7.6

Andy Robertson has enjoyed a successful month of Premier League action for Tottenham, winning all three games that he’s featured in for the club.

Robertson’s three Premier League appearances in October saw him secure a FotMob player rating of 7.0 or above in all three games. That’s the first time he’s managed that in three successive Premier League matches since doing so in December 2024 for Liverpool.

Only Mohammed Kudus (16) fired in more open-play crosses for Spurs across the month than the Scottish defender (13), while he also created five chances and assisted one of their goals in the 3-1 win over Coventry on 19 October.

Central Defence: Ezri Konsa (Arsenal) – 7.8

Ezri Konsa played in all four of Arsenal’s games between the beginning of October and 2 November, and ended on the winning side in each one.

The England defender even scored his first Premier League goal for Arsenal and his first in the competition since May 2025, in their 2-0 victory over Everton on 24 October. His FotMob player rating of 8.0 in that win was his highest in a Premier League game in nearly a year (8.0 on 30 November 2025 for Aston Villa vs Wolves).

Forming a formidable partnership with Gabriel Magalhães, the Gunners conceded just one goal in their four games across the period considered, while they allowed opponents a league-low 10 shots on target worth just 3.2 xG.

He only just edged out his central defensive partner in this team, with the Brazilian ranking below Konsa and Van Hecke with an average monthly rating of 7.7.

Central Defence: Jan Paul van Hecke (Tottenham) – 7.9

Jan Paul van Hecke ended October with a Player of the Match performance in Spurs’ 2-0 home win over 10-man Crystal Palace on 31 October. He scored the second goal in that victory, meaning he’s now already halfway (2) to the total Premier League goal tally he achieved over four seasons at Brighton (4).

A reliable player when building possession from the back, Van Hecke attempted (419) and completed (373) the most passes among Premier League players in October. He also ranked in the top 10 for duel success (63.6%) among the 99 players involved in 30+ duels across the month.

Right-Back: Ben White (Arsenal) – 7.6

Ben White grabbed an assist in two of his three Premier League appearances in October, creating goals in the wins over Leeds and Everton. The Englishman already has as many Premier League assists this season (3) as he did in 2025-26 (1) and 2024-25 (2) combined.

Both of those performances saw him achieve impressive FotMob player ratings (7.8 vs Leeds, 8.1 vs Everton) and, together with a 6.8 rating in the away win at Nottingham Forest between those two games at the Emirates, White ended the month as the fourth highest-scoring defender (7.6).

Left-Wing: Jérémy Doku (Manchester City) – 7.9

Jérémy Doku scored in Man City’s opening game of October in the 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield, and then set up another in his second game against Ipswich Town.

He may have ended on the losing side in his last two games for City in the month, but he was a constant threat to opponents Aston Villa and Brighton; he was involved in more shots than any other City player across those matches (12 – six shots, six chances created).

Across the entire league in October, no player was involved in more shots following a ball carry than Doku (10 – five shots, five chances created) and he topped the league rankings for take-ons both overall (48) and in the opposition half (41).

Central Midfield : Declan Rice (Arsenal) – 8.0

The midfielder with the highest average FotMob player rating across the month was Declan Rice, whose consistent performances have helped Arsenal secure 12 points from their four games since the resumption of action following the international break.

The England international secured the Player of the Match award in three of his four games over the period considered for this team, with ratings of 8.3 against Leeds, 8.1 versus Nottingham Forest, and 8.1 against Liverpool on Sunday.

Rice was Arsenal’s most creative player across their four Premier League games this month, with 10 chances created. Only Florian Wirtz (13) and John McGinn created more across all players in the league.

Central Midfield : Sandro Tonali (Tottenham) – 7.8

Sandro Tonali was one of Tottenham’s most consistent players across October, securing a FotMob player rating of 7.4 or above in all four of his Premier League appearances.

Those displays helped his side secure a draw at Man Utd before three successive wins in games against Coventry, Chelsea and Crystal Palace. Those three back-to-back wins were as many as they’d managed in their previous 26 matches combined (D10 L13).

A crucial player for Spurs in their open-play build-up, Tonali ranked first among teammates for attacking sequence involvements in open play across October (29). Only Doku (30) registered more than him across the entire league.

Right-Wing: Pedro Neto (Chelsea) – 7.8

After picking up an assist in the 5-1 win over Bournemouth to kick off the month, Pedro Neto put in a Player-of-the-Match display in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Everton, where he scored both goals.

As well as his goals, Neto created five chances in open play in that win against the Toffees, which was his highest tally in a Premier League appearance to date.

He secured a FotMob player rating of 9.3 thanks to that performance, which was his highest across his entire 189-game Premier League career so far.

Striker: Evanilson (Bournemouth) – 8.3

Evanilson ended the month with a goal in Bournemouth’s 2-0 win over Leeds United at the Vitality Stadium, meaning he scored in all four of his Premier League appearances in October – the only player to do so. In fact, it’s the first time that he’s scored in four successive league appearances since moving to Europe in 2020 when he joined FC Porto.

The Brazilian forward secured ratings of 8+ in his final three appearances of the month (vs Leeds, Man Utd and Sunderland) and was Bournemouth’s standout player in their 5-1 defeat to Chelsea to start the month (7.9), as the only player in the Cherries side to be rated above 6.9.

Striker: Nicolas Jackson (Aston Villa) – 7.9

Nicolas Jackson enjoyed a superb month in the Premier League for Aston Villa, scoring in three of his four league appearances across the month, notching four strikes overall. Only once before, in May 2023 at Villarreal (five goals) has Jackson scored more across a month of action within the top five European leagues.

Two of his goals came in the impressive 2-1 win over Manchester City on 24 October, ending Enzo Maresca’s side’s seven-game winning run to start the Premier League season. That performance saw Jackson secure a FotMob player rating of 8.9, his highest across his four league appearances in October.
