Jacobo Ramon has attracted Arsenal’s attention, with the Gunners considering a move for the Como defender as they look to strengthen their squad. Mikel Arteta wants to maintain the quality of his options and ensure his team remains competitive in the pursuit of major honours.
Arsenal currently have one of the strongest squads in European football, and Arteta is aiming to guide them towards further success in the Premier League. They have also impressed in the Champions League over recent seasons, establishing themselves among the competition’s leading sides.
The Gunners are determined to keep winning matches and trophies, making the club an attractive destination for players across Europe. However, Ramon may not be convinced that moving to the Emirates would be the best decision for his career at this stage.
The defender has impressed at Como, where Cesc Fabregas has helped him develop and establish himself as an important member of the team. His performances have attracted interest from several leading clubs, making him a player whose future could attract considerable attention during the transfer window.
Arsenal face a challenge in pursuit of Ramon
Arsenal admire the defender and are considering adding him to their squad, but they could struggle to convince him to make the move. Competition for his signature is also expected to be strong, given the reputation he has built through his performances in Italy.
According to Football Insider, Ramon believes Arsenal already have a settled defensive unit and may not need another player in his position. That concern could make the Gunners’ pursuit particularly difficult, even if they are prepared to offer him an opportunity to join a club competing for major trophies.

Regular football is central to his decision
The report claims Ramon fears that moving to the Emirates could stall his career because he might not receive enough opportunities to play regularly. At this stage of his development, maintaining consistent involvement is important if he wants to continue improving.
Although Arsenal can offer a competitive environment and the chance to challenge for major honours, those advantages may not outweigh his concerns about playing time. Arteta would need to explain how the defender fits into his plans and convince him that joining the Gunners would support his development.
For now, Ramon’s future remains uncertain, and Arsenal may have to work hard to change his thinking.
