Liverpool and Chelsea have both “made contact with the agent” of Brentford left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf, according to journalist Khadim Diakhate.
The defender only moved to the Bees from West Ham for £40m at the end of August, but posting on his X account, Diakhate said the Reds are already keeping tabs on him ahead of a potential approach next summer.
Supporters on X are not particularly enthused about the prospect of Diouf making the move to Anfield:

Tzimikas is set to leave the club
With Kostas Tsimikas out of contract at the end of the season, more competition for Milos Kerkez will be needed.
It appears that chief scout Barry Hunter has identified Diouf as a potential replacement for Tzimikas, but the Senegalese international is unlikely to be the only one under consideration.
Back in September, Liverpool were linked with Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde, and the 23-year-old is expected to be available in January, having fallen down the pecking order at the Camp Nou. A more obscure option, New England Revolution’s Peyton Miller is also believed to be on the Merseyside club’s radar.

Liverpool need more than one fullback
The Reds are struggling for creativity on both flanks. Ronald Araujo has been hailed for his defensive solidity, but he is not Trent Alexander-Arnold, and his passing (especially in the final third), leaves a lot to be desired.
No matter what happens in terms of Araujo’s future, you do feel that sporting director Julian Ward will be tasking Hunter with finding a new right-back as well.
