Chelsea fans will be pleased to hear that two players are expected to return from injury over the next fortnight. Joao Pedro, Reece James, Maxence Lacroix and Jamie Gittens are all set to spend at least a few more weeks on the sidelines.
However, Emiliano Martinez appears close to returning from his broken jaw. Meanwhile, another Chelsea star who has been out for several months could also be nearing a return ahead of the November international break.

Emi Martinez and Aaron Anselmino handed Argentina call-ups
Emi Martinez suffered a broken jaw after colliding with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite during the second half of Chelsea’s 2-0 victory last month. The goalkeeper has since missed the Blues’ last three matches, with Mike Penders stepping in between the sticks.
Martinez was initially expected to return after the international break. However, Xabi Alonso suggested last week that he could be available for Sunday’s clash with Sunderland, potentially wearing a protective face mask. The Argentine has now been called up for the next international break, which begins next week, suggesting he could be fit to feature against Sunderland.

The bigger news for Chelsea is that Aaron Anselmino has also received an Argentina call-up ahead of their fixtures against Uruguay and Costa Rica. The defender has not played a single minute for the Blues this season.
Alonso said on Friday: “He’s had a few things, a few injuries, and it still will take a few weeks until he’s fully fit and we need to be cautious with him because he has had a few of them, so he’s still not there.” His comments suggested Anselmino would remain sidelined until after the international break, but the call-up could indicate that he is ahead of schedule.
Anselmino was spotted in the Chelsea dugout for the first time this season against Manchester United on Saturday. The centre-back’s return would be particularly welcome following Maxence Lacroix’s hamstring injury and amid concerns over Wesley Fofana’s recent performances.
