The Gunners will have a great chance to return to winning ways though, when they come up against Slavia Prague on Wednesday, live with TNT Sports on HBO Max.
If Arsenal do win, they will leap up to at least fifth place in the league phase table, and potentially higher if other results on the night go their way.
The Premier League champions are a tough proposition for any team in Europe after a sensational start to the domestic campaign.
Arteta's men are three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table after recording four wins on the bounce, including a 1-0 triumph over Liverpool in their latest fixture.
In stark contrast, Slavia Prague have struggled in Europe's elite competition this term.
They are currently 32nd in the league-phase table with just one point to their name, which came after a 2-2 draw at Turkish giants Fenerbahce on October 20.
They also suffered a 2-0 defeat at Sabah FK after falling to a 3-2 loss against Lens.
Arsenal will be desperate to strengthen their position in the top eight, particularly with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona looking so strong.
Slavia have four players currently on their injury list: Igoh Ogbu, Elias Pitak, Ivan Schranz and Adonija Ouanda.
Teenage sensation Max Dowman is suspended for Arsenal, while Bukayo Saka is a long-term absentee.
However, Arteta was given a huge boost, with William Saliba having played 45 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game last week. The Frenchman is now ready to be in contention.
"Yes, he's in a really good place," Arteta said. "I think the process and the timings and in the manner that the injury has been dealt with, and especially the feelings that Willy has been having along the way, they've been very, very positive.
"So, his evolution has been as expected, which is not always the case. He feels very comfortable.
"He played 45 minutes [behind] closed doors last week and he feels ready to go. So whether we use him or not now is a matter of what the team needs."
Arsenal will be big favourites when they travel to the Fortuna Arena to take on Slavia Prague.
However, The Gunners will have to overcome one of the most intense atmospheres European football has to offer when the game gets under way on Wednesday, November 4.
Kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 UK time live with TNT Sports 1 on HBO Max, but first fans have plenty of build-up to sink their teeth into. Coverage will begin at 19:00 UK time.
