RB Leipzig’s Castello Lukeba (23) is reportedly dreaming of joining FC Barcelona, according to Sky Sport Deutschland.
Eager to take the next step in his career, the versatile defender – who recently changed his agency – had already pushed to leave Germany last summer, but a deal failed to materialise. Under contract with Die Roten until 2028, Lukeba currently has a release clause of €80m, which will be reduced to €65m from the summer of 2027.
Leipzig, who will need to generate at least €100m in transfer revenue during the upcoming summer transfer window, could therefore benefit from the sale of the former Lyon player to balance their books.
Having joined the Saxon club in 2023, Lukeba has now made over 110 appearances for them, scoring two goals and providing one assist. Having started in each of the 11 matches he has played since the start of the season, the 23-year-old is now aiming for a move to a top club and a place in the national team.
