Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Skydance Sports announced an agreement Tuesday on a deal that will see the NFL’s reigning Most Valuable Player create scripted, unscripted, and branded content with the company.
Jason Reed, who leads Skydance’s sports division, told Alex Weprin of The Hollywood Reporter the company is excited to work with one of the NFL’s biggest stars.
“Josh has quickly made a name for himself as one of the most exciting and skilled players in the NFL,” Reed said. “Not only is he a uniquely talented player, he is an amazing human being. His vision, determination, and creativity make him a force off the field as well as on, and we are thrilled to be partnering with him as be builds his business outside of the game.”
It’s a path that feels similar to Omaha Productions. Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning founded that company to create content following his on-field retirement.

Allen Comments on New Deal
Allen, who narrowly edged out Baltimore Ravens signal-caller Lamar Jackson to win the 2024 NFL MVP Award, is one of the most well-known athletes in American sports. His mainstream fame skyrocketed further when he started dating actress Hailee Steinfeld. The pair got engaged in November.

It’s no surprise the 28-year-old California native is trying to parlay his on-field success into off-field opportunities. Manning’s efforts over the past decade opened the door for players to create sizable financial revenues beyond commercials and post-career roles as a football analyst.
Today’s world is all about creating content. The Kelce brothers, Jason and Travis, are among those who’ve capitalized the most. They’ve created a highly successful podcast, New Heights, and Jason landed an ESPN late-night show, They Call it Late Night with Jason Kelce, following his retirement from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Allen is excited about the chance to start forging his own path beyond being a top-tier quarterback.
“I’m excited to partner with a world class organization like Skydance Sports to further my creative ambitions through storytelling,” Allen told Weprin. “Utilizing my platform to do good and be good is very important to me, and Skydance is an excellent partner, who can help me achieve this goal, through the creation of compelling content that aims to inspire.”
Those words ring similar to the conclusion of his MVP speech. He wrapped it up with: “Be good, do good, God bless and go Bills.”
Skydance Sports Background
Skydance Sports launched in 2021 as an offshoot of Skydance Media. The parent company was founded in 2010 by David Ellison. It’s currently in the process of merging with Paramount Global, one of the world’s largest production companies.
The sports division received a major boost in 2022 when it reached an agreement with the NFL. It’s since created a wide range of content, including Prime Video’s Kelce documentary and the Roku Channel’s NFL Draft: The Pick Is In. A 10-part documentary on the Dallas Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones is currently in the works, as well.
In turn, Allen joins not only a rapidly growing company, but one with the power of the NFL behind it. That doesn’t mean there won’t be challenges, though. Trying to stand out in a world with an endless stream of content is increasingly difficult. He’s also operating from a smaller market in Buffalo during the season.
What Type of Content Might Allen Create?
Allen isn’t overly active on social media. The Buffalo superstar’s last original post on X (a non-retweet) came all the way back in August. That’s when he “celebrated” being named the NFL’s best trash talker. He’s only posted on Instagram three times so far in 2025.

As a result, it’s tough to predict what direction his content will go. His comments about being good and doing good provide a clue. He’ll probably focus on uplifting pieces of media. It’s an solid baseline idea given that’s an underserved part of the current market.
He’ll likely still create some sports content, however. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a heavy golf element. Allen is an avid golfer, especially in the offseason. He’s taken part in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am twice. He also teamed with Kansas City Chiefs rival Patrick Mahomes to take on legendary quarterbacks Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers in The Match in 2022.
Ultimately, it’ll be interesting to see what direction the Bills quarterback goes since he doesn’t have much previous content experience. That said, he comes off as super personable and down to Earth, which are traits that helped make Manning so successful. The same should be true for the face of Buffalo’s franchise.
One thing’s for sure: Fans will be seeing a lot more of Allen moving forward.
