Copenhagen vs Chelsea team news

Chelsea will be without at least six players against Copenhagen: Noni Madueke (hamstring), Nicolas Jackson (hamstring), Marc Guiu (hamstring), Romeo Lavia (muscle), Omari Kellyman (hamstring) and Mykhailo Mudryk (suspension).

Trevoh Chalobah has recovered from a back problem and Benoit Badiashile has also returned to training. Wesley Fofana is fully fit but not in the 21-man squad.

Reece James and Cole Palmer could make their Conference League debuts as they were left out of the squad for the league phase.

Copenhagen vs Chelsea prediction

The Chelsea Chronicle’s prediction: Copenhagen 0-3 Chelsea

Chelsea’s target should be to effectively win the tie on Thursday night. This means leaving the 38,000-capacity Parken Stadium with at least a three-goal advantage.

This would allow Maresca to rest key players in next week’s reverse fixture with important Premier League games against Tottenham and Arsenal on the horizon.

The Blues will have gained confidence in the 4-0 demolition of Southampton and, assuming Maresca picks a strong team, a similar result is on the cards here.
