**Paqueta set to face court over betting scandal**
The FA hearing to deal with Lucas Paquetá’s alleged ‘spot-fixing’ yellow-cards -for -bets will take place this Month, finally confirmed today by [Sky Sports](https://www.skysports.com/football/video/16472/13322209/lucas-paqueta-fa-seeking-lifetime-ban-for-west-ham-midfielder) who have reported the worst news possible ahead of the hearing, both for the player and West Ham:
The FA are pushing for a **lifetime ban** for Paquetá if the three man tribunal finds him guilty.
According to Sky:
_“The hearing into Paqueta’s case will take place this month and will last for three weeks as they try to reach a verdict._
_It is set to be one of the longest court proceedings in FA history, with the governing body seeking a lifetime ban for the Brazilian midfielder.”_
_“Both the FA and West Ham have been approached by us here at Sky Sports News. Neither is prepared to comment.”_
I’m sure they’re not: But behind the scenes both will be scrabbling around like crazy to talk to their legal representatives ahead of the hearing. A lifetime ban has seldom been dished out to a professional footballer in Europe – just four occasions.
The stakes couldn’t be higher for Paquetá now – who of course strenuously protests his innocence.
