The Las Vegas Raiders are eager to get things turned around and instill a winning culture. In an effort to help achieve this, the Raiders welcomed NFL legend Tom Brady into their ownership group and brought in legendary coach Pete Carroll to be the team’s new head coach.
However, the organization knows it will still need elite players on the field. As such, they’ve made a major move to make sure the face of their franchise is happy and staying put for years to come, according to one prominent league insider.
“Las Vegas Raiders are signing Pro Bowl DE Maxx Crosby to a three-year, $106.5 million extension that includes $91.5 guaranteed, making him the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history, per sources.
“For the third time in four years, the Raiders are addressing the contract of their cornerstone player, this time cementing his relationship with the Raiders for the foreseeable future. The deal was negotiated by CJ LaBoy and Doug Hendrickson,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Kudos to his loyalty to Las Vegas. All these other guys requesting trades and he continues to have a good relationship with his organization,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Paying record money for a position that rarely changes game outcomes is exactly why the Raiders stay mediocre,” another fan added.
“Maxx Crosby plays like he’s on fire every snap. Raiders had to pay him, no question,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see what else Brady and the front office have in the works for this offseason.
