Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luis Campos vented his anger at the match officials as they walked down the tunnel at half-time of the game agains Liverpool.
His fury was prompted by the referee's failure to send Ibrahima Konate off for an apparent last-man shove on Bradley Barcola. “It’s a red card or a penalty,” Campos is reported to have said, repeatedly, in the direction of the officials at the pause.
Barcola had squeezed in front of Konate and was running onto a lofted pass, with just an onrushing Alisson to beat, when he went to ground after the Reds center-back appeared to barge the PSG player to the ground with his shoulder.
The incident was looked at by the video assistant referee for a lengthy amount of time before the on-field referee signaled for the game to continue.
Rio Ferdinand, who was on co-commentary duty for TNT Sports, said: “That is a foul. The push is in the back, so it's a foul. If that's not a red card I'll be amazed.”
“It goes in the filing cabinet of 'I've seen them given'," former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock said on BBC Radio 5 Live. "I would feel annoyed if I was a PSG player.”
