The New York Jets cut star wide receiver Davante Adams earlier this week, and now there’s a ton of speculation about where he could land next.
Adams is a potential Hall of Famer one day, who’s had five straight seasons with at least 1,000 yards receiving. In his career with the Packers, Raiders and Jets Adams has caught 957 passes for 11,844 yards and 103 touchdowns.
And with the Broncos potentially in the market for a big name wide receiver, at least one group of oddsmakers has made Denver the favorites to sign him as a free agent.

The Broncos are at 4-1 to land Adams, with the 49ers at 5-1, the Giants and Packers at 6-1, the Chargers at 7-1 and the Raiders at 9-1.
Of course, many think Davante Adams will follow Aaron Rodgers to wherever he lands next. The duo had a ton of success in Green Bay and linked back up in New York this past season for 11 games. Rodgers was also cut by the Jets, and could land with the Giants or Raiders, among other teams.
Obviously the Broncos are set at quarterback with Bo Nix, so if Adams wants to play with Rodgers, it’s not going to happen in Denver. But giving Nix another weapon to pair with Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims Jr. might be tempting for head coach Sean Payton and GM George Paton.
Adams will command big money on the open market, so it’ll be interesting to see if Payton and Paton would be willing to give him more than $20 million per year, as some think he’ll get. Still, the popular website Spotrac thinks Adams is worth $13.6 million, which feels a lot more reasonable.
At 32-years-old, age is also something to consider. It’d likely have to be a one or two-year deal for the Broncos to take the chance and see what Davante Adams still has left in the tank.
In the meantime, another set of oddsmakers likes the Broncos make a run at Cooper Kupp from the Rams, another big name wide receiver who’s available.
It’s a bit of silly season in the NFL, but it feels like a top new target for Bo Nix could call Denver home sooner rather than later. We’re all waiting to find out who it will be.
