Furious PSG directors chased referee Davide Massa down the tunnel during half-time of their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.

In images captured on French sport channel CANAL Plus, Luis Campos was seen shouting repeatedly at the match officials after Liverpool's Ibrahima Konate appeared fortunate to escape a red card following a VAR check in their Champions League tie. The Senegalese centre back looked to have brought down French winger Bradley Barcola in the first half of the two giant's last-16 clash at the Parc des Princes.

But Massa was not sent to the VAR screen to review his initial decision to not hand out a card or issue a spot kick. And Campos was seen shouting “it’s a red card or a penalty” repeatedly at Italian referee Massa as he made his way back to the changing rooms during the interval of the round-of-16 first leg at Parc des Princes.

To add insult to injury Harvey Elliot came off the bench to grab the only goal of the game and take a 1-0 lead back to Anfield for the second leg. At full time, former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “It goes in the filing cabinet of 'I've seen them given.' I would feel annoyed if I was a PSG player.”

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher called the result "one of the biggest robberies you will ever see in football. I can't believe what I have just seen. PSG were absolutely outstanding. They battered Liverpool."
