Josh Allen, Hailee Steinfeld’s ‘Love’ Gets Beautiful Take From ‘Happy Gilmore’ Actor

Christopher McDonald, best known for his role in "Happy Gilmore," recently shared his thoughts on the Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and actress Hailee Steinfeld's relationship, calling it a true example of love.

McDonald, 70, was speaking at the GBK, MEND & Bodywell's Pre-Academy Awards Luxury Lounge when he was asked about Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce's cameo in "Happy Gilmore 2."

While he praised Kelce's acting abilities, he quickly turned the conversation to Allen.

"I'm a big Josh Allen fan," McDonald admitted, per US Magazine. "That's a rockstar quarterback right there."

The actor expressed his admiration not only for Allen's skills on the field but also for his relationship with Steinfeld. While McDonald typically does not follow athletes' personal lives, he could not help but notice the deep connection between the couple.

"The way they look at each other? Oh my god, that is love right there," McDonald said. "They're gonna be just fine, those two. They're gonna have beautiful kids too, because they're two beautiful people inside and out."

Allen, 28, and Steinfeld, 27, have kept their relationship relatively private since they were first linked in 2023. However, they confirmed their engagement in November 2024 with a heartfelt Instagram post.

The couple has made only a handful of public appearances together, including their red carpet debut at the 2025 NFL Honors, where Allen gave a touching tribute to Steinfeld, according to E! Online.

"You've been my rock and my best friend," Allen said during his speech. "I would not be standing on this stage if it weren't for you."

McDonald's comments add to the growing excitement surrounding Allen and Steinfeld's upcoming wedding.

Though the actor remains focused on "Happy Gilmore 2"-which is set to premiere on Netflix on July 25-he couldn't help but express his support for Allen both on and off the field.

"I just love him, and I hope we have many more years of Josh Allen. MVP, baby," McDonald said enthusiastically.
