Liverpool are one of a host of clubs weighing up a summer swoop for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara.
The Senegalese international has already been compared to World Cup winner N’Golo Kante, and his performances this season have attracted a lot of interest.
TBRFootball report that the Reds, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, Newcastle, Brighton, Bournemouth and Aston Villa have taken a close look at Camara.

Other clubs in mainland Europe, such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, are also said to be watching the 21-year-old, but Monaco are not expected to let him go without a fight.
What do fans need to know about Camara?
The midfielder made his senior debut for Metz, having moved to France at a young age after being spotted by scouts in Senegal’s Generation Foot academy.
Camara’s performances really caught the eye at the 2023 African Cup of Nations as he helped Senegal win the tournament, beating Algeria on penalties in the final. He also impressed in the 2024 edition of the competition prior to his switch to Monaco for £12.5m last July.
Liverpool are keen to strengthen their midfield options
The Reds have been looking to add a no.6 for quite some time. Although Ryan Gravenberch has excelled after being asked to play the position by head coach Arne Slot, he does need more competition for his place.
Wataru Endo has performed admirably when called upon but the Japanese international is not getting any younger, and many feel that Slot would be open to letting him go if the right offer arrives.
Camara has the energy and youthful exuberance to replace Endo’s work rate in the middle of the pitch. Whether he can reach the levels that Kante reached, though, is another matter entirely.
