Bucks Make Historic Giannis Antetokounmpo Announcement

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks faced off against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.

During the matchup against the Mavs, Antetokounmpo earned himself a spot on a prestigious list in NBA history.

The Bucks announced that Antetokounmpo has officially reached the 20k-point mark in his career.

"20,000 points," the Bucks posted. "20,000 memories. Keep changing the narrative, Giannis."

According to StatMamba, Antetokounmpo is the sixth-youngest player in NBA history to reach 20,000 points, behind LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan.

Antetokounmpo also became the 52nd player in NBA history to reach the historic feat.

Antetokounmpo entered the matchup against the Mavs averaging 30.8 points (second in the NBA), 12.1 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.

Ahead of the team's Wednesday night matchup, Milwaukee was ranked at No. 4 in the Eastern Conference standings with a 35-25 record, riding a three-game win streak.

Antetokounmpo is currently in his 12th season in the NBA, having already cemented a Hall of Fame career. Throughout his tenure with the Bucks, Antetokounmpo has been named a two-time NBA MVP, 2021 NBA champion, Finals MVP, eight-time All-NBA member and nine-time NBA All-Star.

After the Bucks face off against the Mavericks, they're set to continue their road trip, with matchups against the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers on the horizon.
