Chelsea will reportedly face competition from giants clubs Real Madrid and Liverpool to sign a defensive transfer target in the summer.
It’ll be interesting to see how busy Chelsea are when the summer transfer window comes around at the end of the season.
Chelsea’s plan for the summer transfer window includes signing a new goalkeeper, central defender and striker. Ultimately, they need to plug a few holes to help them compete with the best teams around again because they’ve not won any silverware since the change of ownership.

Chelsea target Milos Kerkez expected to leave Bournemouth at the end of the season
According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea ‘appreciate’ Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez and have been tracking him since the 2024 summer window.
Apparently, Liverpool are expected to make a move to try sign the 21-year-old Premier League star. Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid also have the attack-minded left-back on their shortlist.
The report claims that Kerkez is ‘likely’ to leave Bournemouth at the end of the 2024/25 campaign after changing agents. The Cherries will demand in excess of £40m for the Hungary international, though.
The GMS report mentions that Liverpool feel they’re ‘well-positioned’ to sign the young full-back despite rival transfer interest.
It was claimed back in the summer of 2024 that Chelsea chiefs really liked Bournemouth’s Kerkez as they considered a move for him. Instead, he stayed put at the South Coast club and has gone from strength to strength during his second season in English football.

Similarly, Kerkez has been shining this season for a Bournemouth side sitting seventh in the Premier League table.
Here is a look at how Kerkez and Cucurella compare this term…
