The Lille midfielder is being courted by a handful of Premier League clubs and suitors have been given a boost by Fabrizio Romano.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham have been sent a teasing piece of transfer information from Fabrizio Romano this week, along with Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The trio of top flight clubs are said to be queuing up to talk with Lille midfielder Angel Gomes as his contract at Lille comes to an end this season. The 24-year-old has played over 100 times for the French outfit since 2020 but has not committed his future past the end of this season.

That has put clubs not only in the UK but across Europe on high alert. It had been thought that Lille could look to tie the star down to a new deal but transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that there is no chance a new deal will happen, enticing suitors such as Spurs and West Ham.

West Ham and Spurs target ‘100%’ on the move this summer

Writing in his GiveMeSport newsletter, Romano was asked if Gomes was ‘destined’ for the Premier League this summer. He said: “Yes, Premier League is a possibility for Angel Gomes while also clubs in the Bundesliga asked for information to his new agents. He will 100% leave Lille.”

Last month, TBR Football had claimed that Spurs had ‘stepped up’ their efforts to convince Gomes to join Ange Postecoglou’s project in North London. Gomes has pushed himself into the England team this season, earning his first senior cap in the Nations League meeting with Ireland last September. He has gone on to earn three further Three Lions appearances.

A product of the Manchester United youth academy, Gomes made 10 senior appearances for the Red Devils, making his debut at the tender age of 16. He then left Old Trafford at the end of his contract to join Lille in 2022.

TBR Football went as far as to claim that Spurs are determined to put themselves at the 'front of the queue' to recruit Gomes this summer, a free transfer too golden a deal to pass up on. Tottenham Hotspur were also in talks with Lille star Jonathan David in December but the forward's future now appears to be elsewhere.

West Ham sent January bid to French outfit

West Ham were named as another party interested in Gomes with a bid supposedly sent to Lille in January in an effort to snap up the player before the free agent race hots up in the summer. Clubs in Germany, Italy and Spain are also reportedly interested.

Speaking about Gomes in September, following his call-up to the England squad, caretaker Three Lions boss said Lee Carsley: "He absolutely loves football. He watches football, he's interested in tactics, he knows all the player in any league.

"If you ask him for any feedback you need to be prepared that he is going to give you some feedback on the session or how we're going to build up, or the positions.

"He'll help in terms of he will often say about some build-ups that he's done at other clubs or what he's played against, because obviously he's playing in France so he sees different things. He fully deserves it (his call-up)."

In other news, ex West Ham and Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui has been linked with a sensational Premier League management return.
