Man Utd striker prospect signs for new club on permanent basis,'I can't wait to get started...'

Manchester United striker prospect Sekou Kaba has left the club on a permanent basis.

A deal struck in the winter transfer window has finally been disclosed, one month after the deadline.

Sekou Kaba’s exit from Manchester United was held up by red-tape, similar to the paperwork that delayed Chido Obi signing for the Red Devils.

Kaba signed for Manchester United in 2021 from Derby County, as part of a triple swoop along with James Scanlon and Malachi Sharpe.

Sekou Kaba signs for Cardiff City

Sekou Kaba, 17, has signed with Championship side Cardiff City, the club Manchester United signed Gabriele Biancheri from.

Kaba will go into Cardiff’s under-21 squad, and now the deal has been confirmed, he is excited to start playing football again.

He told the club website: “It’s a brilliant club with amazing fans. I can’t wait to get started and I’m very happy to be here. I can’t really describe the feeling, it’s a great day for me and my family. I’m excited to meet my teammates and play in front of the fans.

“These kind of days are huge. When the opportunity comes, you just have to enjoy the moment. I’m very excited to sign for the club.”

Sekou Kaba spell at Manchester United

Young forward Kaba’s exit is a fresh start for a talented prospect who had not made the progress Manchester United might have hoped for.

Kaba made his Manchester United under-18s debut in 2023, at just 15-years-old.

But this was only one of three appearances he ever made for the under-18s, who have been performing at an incredibly high standard, winning last season’s league title, and on course to repeat this year.

Kaba played only one game this season, a six minute showing as a substitute at the end of November.

Now he has a new opportunity where he should get a better chance of playing regularly.
