On March 4, 2025, Chinese Ambassador to Sweden Cui Aimin attended the webinar with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China (SwedCham China) and delivered a keynote speech. Chairman of SwedCham China Peter Ling-Vannerus and nearly 60 representatives of member companies attended the webinar.

Ambassador Cui provided an overview of the steady and upward trajectory of China's economy and the achievements of the fostering of new quality productive forces, as well as the outcomes and challenges of China-Sweden economic and trade cooperation. He stated that this year marks the 75th anniversary of China-Sweden diplomatic relations, and expressed the willingness to join hands with Swedish business and industrial community to write a new chapter of China-Sweden relations through higher-quality practical cooperation. He expressed the hope that Swedish enterprises would seize the opportunities provided by China’s continued reform and opening up, and further expand and deepen cooperation with China in areas such as green development, AI, life sciences and silver economy, so as to promote deeper and more substantive progress in bilateral practical cooperation.
Chairman Vannerus stated that China has strong innovation capabilities and significant cost advantages. Many SwedCham member companies have been deeply rooted in China for more than 30 years and hope to stay in the country.
Ambassador Cui also answered questions related to the recent high-level exchanges between China and Sweden, and China’s business environment and market opportunities.
