Southampton want to recoup their £20million outlay on West Ham and Crystal Palace target Taylor Harwood-Bellis if he leaves the club this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (4 March) that Harwood-Bellis, 23, is keen to remain a Premier League player next season.
Southampton are virtually doomed to relegation from the top flight this term but the centre-back has been one of their more impressive performers.
The Saints want to recoup their investment if he is to leave the club – but will otherwise be happy to keep him for their promotion push as he is under contract until June 2028.
Southampton want to recoup £20m Harwood-Bellis fee
West Ham and Crystal Palace are among the clubs believed to be weighing up approaches for the one cap, one goal England international.
Harwood-Bellis only joined Southampton permanently last summer (2024) following their promotion from the Championship, which he played a key role in while on loan at St Mary’s Stadium.

His transfer to the south coast from Man City become official as soon as the Saints won the play-off final against Leeds United last May.

The 23-year-old has made 28 appearances across all competitions this term, starting in 26 of those outings.
Harwood-Bellis has scored three goals for Southampton and scored on his senior England debut against the Republic of Ireland last November.

Tyler Dibling has also impressed for Southampton in their dismal 2024-25 campaign.
Southampton prepare for summer exodus
Football Insider has been told that Southampton are preparing to lose multiple star players, including the likes of Tyler Dibling and Aaron Ramsdale, this summer.
Chelsea are keen on Ramsdale, who joined the Saints from Arsenal last summer (2024).
Southampton have just nine points with 11 games of the Premier League season remaining – with Derby’s record-lowest points total of 11 under threat.
