Dorchester Town 0
Dorchester Town’s stellar unbeaten run has come to an end following a 3-0 away defeat to Hanwell Town in the Southern League South.
Tom Killick made three changes ahead of kick off to the starting 11 that drew 1-1 with Taunton Town on Saturday, with keeper Harry Lee replacing Gerard Benfield between the sticks with Jordan Ngalo and Matt Buse returning, replacing Wes Fogden and Marcus Daws respectively.
After 16 minutes the Magpies had thought they etched a goal ahead only for the linesman to raise the offside flag, dashing the hopes of Dorchester fans behind the goal.
Five minutes later, Hanwell were on the attack, with a stinging shot from Ryan Cole forcing Lee into a stunning last ditch save to keep the game level.
Shaquille Gwengwe was looking sharp for the Magpies and lashed a shot at the face of goal on the half hour mark but the chance deflected wide and behind for a corner.
A minute later, Magpies players and fans were appealing to the referee for a penalty due to a handball, but play was waved on.
After 39 minutes, the hosts took the lead through Roberto Nditi. A whipped cross switched the play from Joe Waight to Nditi who took the shot on to make it 1-0.
Hanwell were on the attack well and doubled their lead shortly before the break, through Cole. This time it was a cross from Dan Carr which was flicked on at the near post by Cole to score a debut goal for the Toon.
Olaf Koszela, who has been in fine form so far this season for the Magpies, tried to half the deficit nine minutes into the second half but his shot from the edge of the area blazed high and over the cross bar.
After 57 minutes, the Magpies managed to scramble clear what looked to be a certain goal from the line following a Dwayne Duncan header.
With less than 15 minutes to go, Corby Moore took on a shot from the edge of the area but the chance was well saved by the keeper.
Hanwell Town scored a late third goal a minute before the fourth official signalled added time. Joe Waight bagged the goal, tapping home following a low cross from Nditi.
With that, the Magpies impressive unbeaten run of 19 games came to an end.
