Arsenal are preparing for a busy summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season. With injuries having disrupted their campaign, the Gunners are expected to reinforce key areas, including the goalkeeping department.
David Raya remains Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper, while veteran shot-stopper Neto is set to return to Bournemouth at the end of his loan spell. This leaves 18-year-old Tommy Setford as the primary backup, but the club is now open to loaning him out to aid his development.
According to X user Hand of Ozil, Arsenal will entertain loan offers for Setford this summer, ensuring any potential move guarantees him regular playing time.

Setford, who joined Arsenal from Ajax for €1 million last summer, made his debut for the club in October’s Carabao Cup clash against Preston North End. The England U-19 international was initially set for an earlier debut in September’s EFL Cup match against Bolton but was sidelined with an injury.

If Arsenal sanction a loan move for Setford, they will likely enter the market for a new backup goalkeeper. The Gunners have been linked with Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, a player they attempted to sign last summer. Interest in Garcia has reportedly intensified, and he could be the man to deputise for Raya next season.
Born in the Netherlands, Setford is eligible to play for England through his father, professional golfer Chris Setford. He has already represented England at youth levels, playing a crucial role for the U-17 team at the UEFA European Championship last year.
