Nottingham Forest stadium plan revealed ahead of Man City as Champions League chase heats up

A plan to step it up another notch at the City Ground as Nottingham Forest chase Champions League football has been revealed.

The Reds are third in the Premier League with 11 matches left to play, starting against champions Manchester City - who are in fourth place - on home soil on Saturday (12:30pm).

A top four finish would guarantee Forest playing in the Champions League next season, while it is still possible they could qualify for Europe’s top club competition by finishing in the top five.

The City Ground has already been a fortress for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season, having won seven, drawn four and lost only two of their 13 home league matches so far this season.

Forest have also not lost on the banks of the Trent since November, when they were toppled by Newcastle United.

And six of the Reds’ remaining 11 league games are on home turf. After Man City, they have Manchester United, Everton, Brentford and Leicester City to come Trentside. And then it could be the stage for a potentially-decisive final day clash with fellow Champions League contenders Chelsea on May 25.

Ahead of Forest facing Pep Guardiola’s City side, Supporters’ group Forza Garibaldi has appealed for “vital” help from fellow fans to show their support for the team even more.

“Over the remaining games we want to be as active as we can to support the team for the run-in,” Forza posted on social media platform X.

“We want flags and banners to be a regular part of the weeks ahead, and so we are asking for help to form a volunteer team to support us in the days before and on match days.

“Your contribution will vary but it will be vital. Setting up banners the night before a game, helping unveil them before kick-off, distributing flags and collecting up again etc.

“On a matchday you will need a ticket, but you don’t need to be in a specific area of the ground.

“We rely on a great group of helpers we regularly call upon, but we are looking to increase this number of volunteers.

“If you think you might be able to help us, then please DM us and indicate whether you can help on non-match days (usually night before) or matchdays.”
