Player to soon train with Aston Villa after securing work permit – Already arrived in Birmingham

Last summer, Aston Villa signed Yeimar Mosquera from Colombian side Orsomarso SC and immediately sent him out on loan to Real Unión.

Unai Emery owns Real Unión, and the Villans have a collaboration with the lower division Spanish club. The centre-back made seven appearances for them before he was recalled on January 28th.

Prior to that, we covered claims from Colombia which explained the 19-year-old would only return to Aston Villa after participating in the 2025 South American U20 Championship. They also stated Unai Emery wants to have him for the second half of the season.

The tournament ended on February 16th and Mosquera was part of the Colombia U20 squad that finished third. Journalist Pipe Sierra took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide the latest on the Aston Villa youngster.

Sierra states the defender has secured a work permit and is already in Birmingham and has met his new teammates and coaches.

He adds the South American will be on the youth player’s salary but will also train under Emery’s orders. Mosquera could be in contention to make his first team debut if he were to impress the Villans manager in training.
