Jamie Carragher walks off CBS Sports set during Alisson Liverpool interview

Jamie Carragher jokingly stormed out of the CBS Sports studio on Wednesday night following Liverpool’s rearguard win at Paris Saint-Germain. Despite being under siege for much of the 90 minutes in Paris, Carragher’s former team pulled off a classic ‘smash and grab’ in the Champions League as Harvey Elliott’s late goal gave them a 1-0 win.

Arne Slot’s side had to withstand 26 shots on their goal, compared to just two of their own and were left indebted to a superb display from goalkeeper Alisson. The Brazilian made nine saves, while the hosts also had a goal ruled out by VAR. After his heroics, the 32-year-old was interviewed for CBS by Peter Schmeichel, with pundits Carragher, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards joining via studio link-up.

After discussing the result and display, ex-Manchester City defender Richards pressed the Liverpool hero on if he paid attention to CBS. "Have you seen our show Alisson? Have you seen the clips online?"

The keeper claimed he did watch the show, leading Richards to try to impress him by speaking in Portuguese and asking, "Okay, perfect. So who's your favourite?"

His bilingual qualities weren’t enough to persuade Alisson though. He snubbed the former Premier League winner and Carragher by revealing his admiration for the Arsenal icon Henry.

"Nice Portuguese, by the way; I think I would have to say, Thierry, legend. When I was growing up, I watched a lot of Arsenal in the early 2000s when he was playing. So, it was the only team that was showing on the TV in Brazil."

“Oh Alisson,” shouted an exasperated Carragher. Richards chipped in with, “I’ve had enough of this. You’ve had no idea what you’ve done now,” before Henry thanked the keeper and asked him a serious question.

But Carragher and Richards weren’t around for his answer. They comically then walked off the set, with Carragher laughing as he flicked a casual wave toward the cameras.
