Liverpool legend shares his thoughts on young star

Steve McManaman has spoken about Ben Doak, the 19-year-old Liverpool attacker on loan at the English Championship’s Middlesbrough.

McManaman stated that he believes the player of Scottish descent will become a great player for the Reds. According to TBR Football, the ex-winger stated,

“We brought Ben Doak down and he was the little skillful dribbler, and he’s going to be a great player, and he’s doing really well at Middlesbrough.”

Ben Doak was sent out to Boro to aid his development, and the young lad does not seem to be doing anything but that in the English second-tier.

The player has been involved in 10 goals this term in the Championship, scoring 3 and assisting 7 in 24 matches this season.

True to Doak’s promise, Crystal Palace attempted to secure a move for him in January but Liverpool quickly rebuffed the London based club, showing the faith they have in him and thier plans for him as a part of their long-term future.

The teenager has so much to work and improve on, if he is to achieve the prospects identified in him by Steve McManaman.

Should Mo Salah depart in the summer, Doak could attempt to forge out a pathway for himself on Liverpool’s right wing.
