“Appealing” | ExWHUEmployee | Hammers target defender with exits set

**West Ham are holding a strong interest in bringing Kyle Walker-Peters to east London this summer, its been reported by ExWHUEmployee.**

The club have been keen on the Southampton defender for many months, with the player noted as a key target in the last summer transfer window, however the club opted to bring in Aaron Wan-Bissaka – who has been a successful acquisition.

Despite this, the club are still keen on Walker-Peters and with the Saints set to return to the Championship, it’s seen at present as highly likely West Ham will ramp up our interest at the end of the season to bring the former Spurs player to work under Graham Potter next season.

“We are very keen on Kyle Walker-Peters,” said club insider Ex on [The West Ham Way Patreon](http://thewesthamway.com/memberships). “The fact he can operate as both a right & left back is very appealing, especially with both Vladimir Coufal and Emerson’s futures at the club looking doubtful.”

[As reported previously](https://www.thewesthamway.com/2025/03/05/much-appetite-exwhuemployee-club-weigh-up-summer-exits/), Ex has advised that both Everton and Fulham are looking at Coufal as a potential signing this summer, with West Ham unlikely to offer a pay increase to retain the Czech international at this stage.

Furthermore, Emerson is attracting interest from elsewhere, with the club potentially looking now at cashing in on the former Chelsea player, especially following the progression of Ollie Scarles this season.

“Emerson has interest from clubs in Italy, which could well be appealing for the player and the club,” added Ex. “He’s 31 this year, so it would seem a wise move to free up wages and have additional funds for Graham Potter to shape his squad for next season.

“Guido Rodriguez is another who looks highly likely to leave too, with former club Real Betis and their rivals Sevilla said to be keen on the midfielder.

“He also has interest from clubs in Saudi and Qatar, so it appears the club should be able to sanction a sale of the player at the end of the season.”
