Report: Everton set to battle four Champions League giants for £31m Man United player this summer

Everton and West Ham have been battling for players for a while now, with the January transfer window a prime example of that.

Evan Ferguson chose to join West Ham over Everton earlier this year in a move which has not exactly worked out for either party.

After what was a dismal first half of the season, Everton have finally been able to look upwards and ahead to the summer window.

Everton are expected to be busy in the summer, with considerable player turnover set to unfold with so many contracts expiring over the coming months.

David Moyes has been keen to the turnaround on Merseyside as the Blues have pulled 15 points clear of the relegation zone.

In doing so, the 61-year-old has made Everton appear a much more attractive landing spot for potential summer targets.

However, there is now a player from Manchester United who Everton and West Ham are going to have to fight for against some of Europe’s elite clubs.

Everton eyeing Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof

Defenders are seemingly on the mind this summer, with Everton keen to make a move for Vladimir Coufal from West Ham.

However, there could be even more additions being made with players possibly heading for the doors over the coming months.

According to Caught Offside, Everton are one of the clubs who are showing a real interest in landing Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof.

After signing for United in a deal worth £31m back in 2017, the Sweden international is now looking set to leave Old Trafford this summer on a free.

However, Everton are going to face some fierce competition from across Europe, with the following clubs all credited with interest:

West Ham

Wolves

Fulham

AC Milan

Inter Milan

Juventus

Benfica

Everton are expected to lose Michael Keane over the summer, which could open a spot up for another defender to be signed.

However, Keane’s potential exit could also open the door for Jake O’Brien to return to his more natural position after playing at right-back.

Everton have long-standing interest in Lindelof

This is not the first time Everton have looked into the possibility of landing the Swedish defender over recent months.

Everton eyed a January move for Lindelof, with United believed to be open to selling the defender ahead of his deal expiring.

It has been a frustrating season for the 30-year-old who will surely be looking for a club to offer him more regular first team minutes.

Manchester United hold interest in Jarrad Branthwaite, but the Toffees’ interest in Lindelof is unlikely to cause any movement on their stance with their prized defender.
