Alisson Becker was in brilliant form as Liverpool somehow escaped from the Parc Des Princes with a 1-0 victory, with their goalkeeper playing a huge role.
Becker made a number of big saves at key times as Arne Slot's side eked out the victory against the head, with midfielder Harvey Elliott scoring a late winner.
It gives them a 1-0 aggregate lead heading into next Tuesday's second leg in Anfield leaving PSG with an uphill battle given Liverpool's brilliant home record in recent times.
Liverpool withstood a barrage of attacking pressure from Luis Enrique's side on Tuesday night, with the Parisians having had a remarkable 29 attempts on goal during the game.

Their Brazilian goalkeeper was in top form, making nine saves to keep PSG at bay, denying the likes of Ousmane Dembele and the impressive Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on numerous occasions.
Liverpool defended deep in their own half for much of the game but scored the winner in the 86th minute through Elliott, who had only entered the action 47 seconds earlier.

Alisson received widespread praise after the game, with former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel hailing him for one of the best goalkeeping displays he's ever seen in his life.
"I actually think it's one of the best goalkeeping displays I've ever seen in my life," Schmeichel said.
Schmeichel interviewed Alisson on CBS Sports after the game.
"I just want to start with a stat...You made nine save," Schmeichel said.
"You stopped nine goals. No Liverpool goalkeeper has ever made nine saves in a game like this. How do you feel about that?

"That's some stat," replied Alisson.
"To be honest, stats are really good to show a part of the game. But what's more is the actions, having to be on your toes to help the team. Sometimes, when a team has so many chances, it looks like you are working badly defensively, but the biggest amount of the chances they had, we always had a player on the ball, trying to block the shot. That makes the goalkeeper's job a little bit easier."
"The manager was talking all week about how good they are, a proper threat for defenders...so I was ready for tonight."
