US-based clinical trial technology provider Mural Health Technologies has partnered with Irish healthcare intelligence company Icon to improve clinical trial subject and site experiences using the Mural Link platform.
Mural Link will provide Icon with a suite of tools for clinical trial subject payments, travel and concierge support, tax management, communication between site and participants, and reporting and analytics capabilities.
Mural Health’s payment alternatives, including the fee-free debit card, will help Icon avoid financial barriers that hinder participation in clinical trials.
Mural Health CEO Sam Whitaker said: “From our very first conversations with Icon, we were highly impressed by their commitment to patient care and innovation.
“This partnership represents a shared vision of removing barriers to trial participation and advancing participation financial neutrality while eliminating the need for site staff to manage highly manual, error-prone, and time-consuming administrative activities.”
The partnership aims to address participant-level operating challenges that contribute to patient attrition.
It will give Icon’s customers access to a larger recruitable subject population, including groups that have historically been underrepresented in clinical trials.
Based in Dublin, Icon provides outsourced development and commercialisation services for a range of sectors within the healthcare industry.

Based in Pennsylvania, Mural Health’s solutions are intended to reduce the burdens of participation for subjects and caregivers.
In January 2023, the company partnered with Ledger Run to improve clinical operations through the use of the Mural Link platform alongside LedgerRun’s ClinRun platform.
