Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have changed a lot of things at Chelsea following their takeover of the club in 2022.
The above includes Chelsea‘s wage structure, with the Blues now reluctant to hand out £200,000-a-week contracts.
Last summer, it was reported that Chelsea ended their interest in Michael Olise because of the finances involved.
They are now being linked with another exciting young player, but the finances surrounding a potential deal for him could also prove to be problematic in more ways than one.

Kobbie Mainoo’s wages could upset Chelsea dressing room
Chelsea are interested in signing Kobbie Mainoo from Manchester United amid his contract stand-off at Old Trafford.
Mainoo only has a couple of years to run on his existing deal and is yet to sign an extension, with United seemingly unwilling to meet his wage demands.
According to GiveMeSport, the midfielder’s camp are pushing for a £180,000-a-week contract, a salary that Chelsea would be very reluctant to offer.
Again, their wage structure has changed since the Roman Abramovich era. For example, Cole Palmer’s salary at Chelsea is only thought to be £130,000 a week.

Moises Caicedo will not be happy earning less money than Kobbie Mainoo
One Chelsea star who will no doubt be asking questions if Mainoo arrives on a bigger salary than him is Moises Caicedo.
Caicedo is one of Chelsea’s most important players and one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
When it comes to possession won, Caicedo is actually second in Europe’s top five leagues, finding himself only behind Barcelona’s Pedri.
The Ecuadorian is thought to be on a £150,000-a-week contract at Stamford Bridge, meaning that Mainoo could end up taking home £30,000 more than him each week.
Caicedo is older than his United counterpart, more experienced and at this moment in time, the much better player. He will feel insulted if someone four years his junior is handed a better deal than him, a lot of that Chelsea dressing room will.
Ultimately, the finances involved in a potential deal for Mainoo are not adding up for Chelsea, with GiveMeSport’s report also claiming that the England international’s current valuation is £80m.
