Paris Saint-Germain suffered a cruel defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday night in the Champions League, and Chelsea fans on social media had plenty to say about Luis Enrique.
While Chelsea have to wait until Thursday evening for their Conference League tie against Copenhagen, the Champions League last-16 phase kicked off in midweek.
PSG were beaten 1-0 at home by Liverpool in the first leg, which gives them a steep hill to climb when they travel to Anfield next week for the second leg. However, the scoreline doesn’t begin to tell the story of a match that the French giants actually dominated.

Luis Enrique, the PSG manager, is coaching a side that is taking giant strides forward during his second season in their dugout.
The 54-year-old is certainly one of the most respected coaches in the sport after his previous success at Barcelona and the Spanish national team before taking charge in Paris.

Chelsea fans super impressed by PSG manager Luis Enrique
Chelsea supporters on social media made the same point that PSG’s Enrique is a top manager after watching them dominate Liverpool on the Champions League stage. Unfortunately for them, they ran into an inspired performance from Reds goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
Jamie Carragher suggested Enrique as a Chelsea manager a couple of years ago when he was linked with the job, but he appears to be a perfect fit in the French capital.

Chelsea considered Luis Enrique before Mauricio Pochttino
Back in 2023, Enrique was strongly linked with the Chelsea manager’s job, which eventually went to Mauricio Pochettino.
It was claimed a couple of years ago that Enrique would like to manage in the Premier League for the first time in his coaching career. In fact, Chelsea spoke with Enrique in April 2023 about possibly becoming the head coach at Stamford Bridge.
However, journalist Fabrizio Romano reported via his daily briefing in April 2023 that Chelsea “cooled their interest” in Enrique after conversations with him.
Enrique has certainly landed on his feet and is now thriving after PSG after taking charge in the summer of 2023. In contrast, Chelsea stuck with Pochettino for just a year before his mutual exit, which was followed by the replacement of Enzo Maresca.
