Salah And Andy Robertson Savaged By L'Equipe With Brutal Player Ratings After Liverpool Win

Andy Robertson and Mo Salah were both hit with 3/10 ratings by French newspaper L'Equipe after Liverpool's smash and grab victory over PSG in the Parc Des Princes.

Liverpool were rooted deep in their own half for the majority of Wednesday's Round of Sixteen clash, with the home side taking 28 attempts on the Liverpool goal without scoring.

A combination of their own wastefulness as well as the brilliance of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker denied them.

The Brazilian goalkeeper made nine saves on the night, thwarting the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on numerous occasions.

Liverpool then stunned PSG with a late goal with subs Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott combining to seal an unlikely victory in the 86th minute.

Alisson's struck a high ball in the direction of Nunez who beat Marquinhos in the air before taking the ball under control. He played in Elliott who side-footed the ball first time past 'keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who got a hand to it but couldn't keep it out.

Predictably, Donnaruma wasn't spared by the notoriously hard to please French newspaper L'Equipe, who led with a front page headline 'Braquage a L'Anglais' - English Heist.

"In a duel from a distance, Alisson, the Brazilian goalkeeper of Liverpool, delivered an immense performance during the Reds' victory at the Parc des Princes (1-0) on Wednesday. Conversely, Gianluigi Donnarumma missed the opponent's only shot on target," read their summation.

From a Liverpool perspective, Alisson Becker was predictably top of the pile on the L'Equipe ratings having been graded as a 9/10. But Mo Salah and Andy Robertson were at the other end of the scale, receiving 3/10 marks.

Salah was largely on the periphery of the game having been well-guarded by Portuguese full back Nuno Mendez who won the majority of their duels and tackles.

Robertson was under pressure for most of the night with Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola having given him a tough time. But he survived, making a number of last-ditch clearances, and the 3/10 seems very harsh.

Centre back pairing Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahim Konate were the only Reds players to receive sixes, with Alexis MacAllister given a five. Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Dominik Szoboszlai, Trent and Ryan Gravenberch were all rated 4/10 by the French publication, as was PSG net-minder Donnaruma.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot admitted his side 'managed to survive' the PSG onslaught.

"We came here with them winning ten games in a row, scoring goal after goal after goal," he said.

"They are number one if you look at the underlying stats of the Champions League. We are happy with the 1-0 win, but we know this is far from decided yet. We have to play our home game yet, and we will need our fans in that home game."
