Martinelli is already a name at just 23 years of age in the Premier League. With his dribbling on the ball, his agility, and his talent for scoring vital goals, he is one of Arsenal’s most exciting players. Barcelona believe he is their long term investment, having missed the attacking flair they have been lacking.
Arsenal’s Dilemma – To Sell or Not to Sell?
The situation is tricky for Arsenal. Their squad is reliant on Martinelli, and if they can afford to pay a hefty amount for his services, the Ligue 1 side might be able to round off other holes. Given the player plus cash deal Barcelona are offering, the Gunners have a lot to think about.
When they cash in on the Brazilian now and reinvest in reinforcements? Or do they continue to hold on to their star and still add to their 4th-place challenge?
What Could a Barcelona Move Mean for Martinelli?
While many players dream of a move to Barcelona, would that be the right move for Martinelli? Playing in La Liga would be alongside world-class players on one hand. On the other hand, he is already a major player at Arsenal and moving might see him having to adjust to an all-new system and environment.
Another question is that Barcelona’s financial problems also prevent them from being able to offer a good career package in salary and long-term stability. Should Martinelli fit in Spain (a risky gamble)?
