Leeds United eyeing transfer for 27-year-old, Crystal Palace and Fulham also keen

Leeds United are interested in completing a deal for Fenerbahçe wing-back Bright Osayi-Samuel, as the 27-year-old’s contract runs down at the end of the season.

According to a report made by Africa Foot, the Whites are very keen on doing a deal to bring the former QPR man to Elland Road, viewing him as a key signing for their Premier League campaign, should promotion back to the big time be achieved.

Daniel Farke’s men are currently in pole position to secure automatic promotion to the top-flight after a two-year absence, and are well on course to become champions, with the Yorkshire outfit sitting three points clear of second-placed Sheffield United as well as being five points better off than third-placed Burnley.

While the pressure is still on to remain consistent with other teams on their coattails, Leeds have seemingly put some plans in place for transfer business should they become a Premier League side once again, with Osayi-Samuel emerging as a target that Leeds may pursue in preparation for next season.

Bright Osayi-Samuel

As per a report from Africa Foot, Leeds are keen to bring Bright Osayi-Samuel to the club, who has enjoyed a regular playing stint with José Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe.

The 27-year-old, who is out of contract this summer, has made 29 appearances in all competitions this term while in Turkey, with 16 of them coming in the Turkish Süper Lig.

While Leeds are set to throw their hat in the ring, Africa Foot also states Premier League duo Crystal Palace and Fulham are monitoring Osayi-Samuel’s situation, meaning it could be a scramble between the three clubs to secure his services.

Osayi-Samuel is a player who needs no introduction to the English game, featuring 79 times for Blackpool after coming through the academy ranks as well as becoming a prominent figure during his time for fellow Championship side QPR.

Making 115 appearances in West London over a four-year period, the attacking defender made the switch overseas to Turkey and has been consistent with his playing time, netting seven times from 168 games.

But his future remains up in the air at this moment in time, and Leeds remain on standby and ready to pounce should he leave Sarı Kanaryalar for nothing.

Bright Osayi-Samuel could be the ideal replacement for Jayden Bogle

Championship - Leeds United v Sheffield United

If they secure their place back in the Premier League, Leeds will be in desperate need of depth and competition for places, and Bright Osayi-Samuel will definitely add that and give someone like Jayden Bogle cause for concern.

You would think Osayi-Samuel would only be interested in a move if top-flight football was assured, and if they could convince the Nigerian international to join, then that would see a boost to their pace down the right flank and an alternative attacking threat to help create more goalscoring opportunities.
