Clinical trial technology company Suvoda has launched the AI assistant Sofia, which helps streamline the process of accessing and reviewing clinical trial data for trial teams.
Available on the Suvoda Platform, the assistant aims to aid drug supply managers in accessing trial information via an “intuitive” chat interface.
The AI tool claims to streamline the retrieval of information by allowing users to access trial data through natural language queries, thereby reducing the need for navigating multiple screens.
The technology helps “improve” productivity in drug supply management.
Drug supply managers are said to swiftly perform tasks such as comparing depot inventories and reviewing participant visit schedules, reviewing drug lot releases for certain nations, and checking the shipment details, which supports operational efficiency.
Suvoda noted that Sofia is equipped with privacy controls purposefully tailored for clinical trials. It restricts study data access depending on user roles, maintaining the trial blind and protecting customer and subject data from being exposed to public domain AI models.
Sofia’s features encompass creating graphs, tables and charts, and can interact with users in their language of preference. The platform also offers answers based on instructions from experts created by subject matter professionals with industry expertise.
The company noted that the assistant will “show its work” to users who try to analyse the outcomes.
The assistant is presently “optimised” for drug supply managers leveraging Suvoda Interactive Response Technology (IRT).
Plans are underway to broaden Sofia’s functionalities to other users and products on the platform.
Suvoda chief product officer E K Koh said: “When creating Sofia, we asked ourselves: What if clinical trial staff had an AI assistant that could alleviate their administrative burdens? Sofia became our answer. It’s an exciting opportunity to streamline the management of clinical trials.”
This launch comes after the company rolled out [a purpose-built software platform](https://www.clinicaltrialsarena.com/news/suvoda-purpose-built-software-platform/) in February 2023, aimed at bringing proven technological innovation to clinical trial management.
