Leeds United have seen plenty of talented players come and go from the academy without much impact, better served heading out to get opportunities elsewhere in the football pyramid.
Daniel Farke is the latest manager at Leeds were every game and point is vital for his objective at the end of the season, and with that comes less risk being taken with blooding youngsters into the first team.
Of course there are exceptional players that break through and need to be playing, but others haven’t been afforded those opportunities and have since enjoyed a run of games elsewhere after leaving the club.

Bobby Kamwa hitting fine form at Newport County – matching Erling Haaland feat this season
24-year-old striker Bobby Kamwa left Leeds in 2022 when he was released from his contract while the Whites were in the Premier League under Jesse Marsch.
He headed into the EFL with Burton Albion, where he struggled for consistent goalscoring form, netting just five goals in 47 appearances for the Brewers.
In the summer, he moved down a division to League Two Newport County and has found much more joy in front of goal.

With eight goals and four assists this season, Kamwa’s most recent outing brought a stunning first-half hattrick against Gillingham, his second match ball of the season – and in the process has matched Erling Haaland as one of only four players in the top four divisions to have done so this season:

Good to see players like Kamwa getting opportunities away from Leeds
It’s fair to say that Kamwa never looked like breaking into the Leeds squad, unsurprising given he was in the youth setup when Marcelo Bielsa got us to the Premier League – the standards were just so high.
That being said, he’s down in League Two and clearly enjoying his football playing across the front three under Nelson Jardim.
He’s not the only player who has shown their quality in the EFL after leaving Leeds, with Lewis Bate captaining promotion-chasing Stockport in League One, Max Dean smashing goals in for MK Dons previously, among plenty of others.
