Rio Ave set to trigger clause of rising star – One for Nottingham Forest to keep eye on given Marinakis link

Nottingham Forest may want to keep an eye on proceedings in Portugal, with Evangelos Marinakis’ club Rio Ave set to sign Ege Tiknaz.

That’s according to O Jogo, who report that the Portuguese club are set to activate the purchase clause for the 20-year-old after his loan deal from Besiktas ends this summer.

The newspaper reports that Tiknaz has enjoyed an excellent season in Portugal after joining on loan from the Turkish side.

Rio Ave are very happy with him and are now preparing to activate the purchase clause, valued at €5m, in the loan deal.

The move is seen as an investment for the future, as Tiknaz has already attracted the interest of several clubs. They believe that they can receive a ‘much higher amount’ from a sale in future.

Reports in Turkey have already claimed that Sporting Club de Portugal and Benfica are interested in the midfielder, and it seems Rio Ave want to get ahead of the game.

They can do so thanks to the ‘financial capacity’ provided to them by Marinakis, who also owns Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest.

The latter could be particularly interested if Tiknaz continues to impress in Portugal in the coming months and years.
