'While Brendan's there': Rangers sent 'unbelievable' Celtic warning amid San Francisco 49ers…

Celtic has been the dominant club in Scotland for decades now.

Sure, Rangers have won the odd piece of silverware, but Celtic’s trophy history shows that the Parkhead club have, by and large, dominated Scottish football and created a huge gap to Rangers both on and off the park.

However, could all that be about to change for Celtic now that Rangers are reportedly on the brink of a takeover by a San Francisco 49ers consortium group?

Not according to former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs. The Everton legend has reiterated just how big the gap between Celtic and Rangers is and believes that whilst Brendan Rodgers is in charge, the Hoops fans have nothing to worry about.

Alan Stubbs tells Rangers they are ‘miles behind’ Celtic

Stubbs told the Daily Record, “Celtic have been unbelievable. The worst thing for everybody else is Celtic have gone to another level and it’s been impressive.

“In terms of the two Glasgow clubs, the stature of the two clubs is still enormous but in terms of their spending power, we’ve got one, we’ve got a runaway train.

“And we’ve got one that’s trying to catch up and finding it very difficult. The rest are miles behind.”

Alan Stubbs shakes off Rangers’ San Francisco 49ers reports with a Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic warning

Whilst most of the headlines are all about Rangers and their potential takeover by the San Franscisco 49ers, Stubbs has told the Ibrox club it won’t matter if the move goes through, as Celtic have their own man putting ‘demands’ on the club.

MORE CELTIC STORIES

Brendan Rodgers has been relentless in his pursuit of Scottish dominance and European progression that even if Rangers do have money to spend if the takeover goes through, Stubbs explains why that won’t really matter.

Subbs continued, “While Brendan’s there, and he’s putting demands on the Celtic board to keep improving, then it’s great for Celtic.

“If Rangers get investment, it doesn’t guarantee they’re going to have success. I’ve seen that first-hand with my team, Everton.

“It’s okay to have an investment, it’s what you do with investment.”

As has been proven over the years at Rangers, money can be thrown at the club but if it’s not spent wisely then the Ibrox club will not get near Celtic.

Now officially Scotland’s most successful club, Celtic are looking to add trophy number 120 and 121 if Rodgers can get another domestic treble over the line this season.

With plenty of money in the bank, Celtic fans know that in Rodgers, they have a manager that knows how to spend that cash wisely as has been proven over the last two transfer windows.
