Ethan Nwaneri underlined his status as a superstar-in-waiting with another goal for Arsenal this week.
Nwaneri’s thunderous hit doubled Arsenal’s lead at PSV Eindhoven, as the Gunners won 7-1 at The Philips Stadion in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. The teenager’s goal continued a phenomenal breakout season for Nwaneri.
The 17-year-old has scored eight goals in all competitions for Arsenal, including two in this season’s Champions League. He’s only the fourth footballer aged under 18 to score a Champions League goal for an English club.
“I think he’s the most exciting footballer in England and maybe Europe” 🌟

Manchester City defender Rico Lewis is the only other player to score a Champions League goal for a Premier League team before his 18th birthday.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere increase the Arsenal representation, alongside Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Wayne Rooney is ninth on the list. Rooney remarkably scored an unforgettable hat-trick on his Manchester United and Champions League debut. After being signed from Everton in 2004, the forward scored three times in a 6-2 thrashing of Turkish side Fenerbahce at Old Trafford.
