Sunderland defender Dennis Cirkin is starting to attract serious transfer interest ahead of the summer window.
Sunderland signed Dennis Cirkin from Spurs in 2021, with the left-back joining for an undisclosed fee and having since become a key member of the first-team.
Despite some tough performances of late, Cirkin is the no.1 choice left-back at the Stadium of Light and he’s had transfer interest in the past, with the likes of Brentford having been mentioned alongside the 22-year-old.
Earlier this season, Leeds United were also linked with Cirkin, who’s so far played 31 times in the Championship this season, scoring three goals and assisting two more.
But Sunderland AFC News can now reveal fresh transfer interest in the player ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea among Premier League clubs eyeing Sunderland’s Dennis Cirkin
Speaking to Sunderland AFC News, transfer expert Graeme Bailey has revealed to us that there’s a growing number of Premier League teams making checks on Cirkin as we move towards the summer transfer window.
Bailey reveals that Leeds United have retained their interest and that Spurs have also considered a shock return for their former academy graduate, who never made a first-team appearance for the North London club.
Bailey said: “Keep a close eye on Cirkin. I am told a lot of Premier League clubs have been doing work on him. Chelsea, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Everton and Leeds – he is an outstanding prospect.”

What’s been said about a new Sunderland contract for Dennis Cirkin?
Despite Cirkin having put in some mixed performances of late, he remains a highly-regarded player at Sunderland and among clubs in the Premier League, as this emerging transfer interest proves to us.
Earlier in the year, Kristjaan Speakman revealed that Sunderland have held contract talks with Cirkin and with Neil too, but that those talks would be sidelined until the summer, when the Black Cats’ season has finished.
Speakman said: “We’ve had those conversations with the guys. There’s no question over Dennis or Dan’s commitment to Sunderland. But I don’t think at the minute, it’s the right moment to be getting into too much of a conversation with them.”
Sunderland return to action at home to Cardiff City on Saturday.
