Sources: Everton have been watching the ‘best striker’ in the Championship

David Moyes and Everton will be reviewing their options in the transfer market and the Toffees boss may seek a new number nine.

Beto has been on immaculate form under Moyes, and it will make fans think why Everton need another striker.

Well, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is currently out of the picture, and despite Beto’s sparkling form, he needs competition.

Everton fans saw ‘old Beto’ against Brentford as the 27-year-old could see his brilliant rise in Everton’s ranks change quickly.

Different positions will be targeted, but the Friedkin Group want a striker at Everton, and their owners might get their wish as a certain number nine has been targeted who would be perfect for Moyes.

Sources suggest Everton are keen on acquiring Josh Sargent

After it was expected that Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja could return, it’s seemingly looking slower than expected.

This will get Moyes thinking about whether he can rely on his other striker options, especially after Beto’s upturn in form with five goals in five games.

With this considered, Graeme Bailey has revealed to Everton.News that the Toffees have been looking into the prospect of acquiring Josh Sargent.

The Norwich City star has been on flames in the Championship with 11 goals this campaign, and after being branded the ‘best striker’ in the Championship (Pink Un), Bailey says Everton are keen.

“Everton are in the market for strikers, and they are doing work on options,” Bailey said.

“Sargent has enjoyed a very good season, and he clearly is the sort of number 9 that would suit a David Moyes system.

“I am told that Everton are one of the clubs to have watched the American in recent weeks.”

Sargent would be perfect for Moyes after Championship statement

The USMNT international has been excellent for the Canaries in his tenure, and it comes as no surprise why Everton want to acquire his services.

It seems as though Sargent will be the subject of serious interest in the summer, and after 16 goal contributions for Norwich, Evertonians will want to learn more about the talisman.

Not only is Sargent’s ability in front of goal enough to stake his claim as Moyes’ starting striker, but the Everton boss also has an admiration for Championship talent.

The Toffees boss takes a keen interest in the second tier, as Everton are expected to sign Championship players, and Sargent certainly falls into that category.

Everton could have two incredibly solid options going into the next Premier League season, as the development of Sargent potentially playing at Bramley Moore-Dock next campaign is certainly one to watch.
