Liverpool braced to receive an astronomical bid from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal for Dominik Szoboszlai
Liverpool are flying high at the top of the Premier League and have also qualified to the UEFA Champions League round of 16 in what has been a dream first season at the helm for Arne Slot. They are also through to the Carabao Cup final, where they face Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium on March 16.
Despite the Reds gearing up for what could be an incredible debut season in English football for Arne Slot, uncertainty continues to plunge the futures of three stars—Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The trio are all out of contract in June and currently in line to leave Anfield as free agents at the end of the season.
Salah, in particular, has been heavily linked with a move to the cash-rich Saudi Pro League. The Saudi Pro League clubs wanted to sign the Egyptian in 2024 but a move didn’t materialise. Now, with the legendary Liverpool forward coming to the end of his contract, they are trying tooth and nail to bring him to the Middle East.

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai is wanted by Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
Along with Salah, the Saudi clubs have set their sights on another Liverpool star. According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Al-Hilal are keen on signing Dominik Szoboszlai from Liverpool this summer. They are ready to table what has been described as an ‘astronomical figure’ worth €120m for the Reds’ playmaker.
After blowing hot and cold in his maiden season under Jurgen Klopp, Dominik Szoboszlai has become a key cog in Slot’s side. The Hungarian has cemented his spot in the Dutch tactician’s first XI, starting 21 of 26 Premier League games. The midfielder has also started chipping in with goals of late, scoring in back-to-back wins over Manchester City and Newcastle.
The 24-year-old’s impressive form for Slot’s side has caught the attention of Al-Hilal, who ‘want a new star’ after Neymar’s return to boyhood club Santos. The aforementioned report adds that the Saudi side’s offer will be even hard to resist for Szoboszlai and could be a ‘turning point in his career’.

Dominik Szoboszlai has become an integral player for Arne Slot
Al-Hilal are keen on adding more experienced, highly-regarded talents with pedigree to their squad in the summer, and Szoboszlai perfectly fits the bill. The ex-RB Leipzig star has proven himself as one of Slot’s most-important players, so the Dutch will be reluctant to let him leave. However, the same cannot be said about Liverpool owners FSG, who may find Al-Hilal’s proposal for the Hungarian playmaker too hot to refuse.
