Liverpool’s performance against Paris Saint-Germain is not one Arne Slot will want to remember.
The Reds were dominated by the Ligue 1 leaders throughout their Champions League contest in Paris and can count themselves lucky that they have taken an advantage back to Anfield.
Steve Nicol was very critical of Liverpool’s display against PSG and everyone associated with the Merseyside club has Alisson to thank for the victory.
After witnessing the Brazilian’s display in Paris, Peter Schmeichel labelled Alisson’s performance as ‘one of the best goalkeeping displays’ he has ever seen.
The goalkeeper stole the show, however, Ibrahima Konate was delighted for two other Liverpool stars after the role they played against PSG.

Ibrahima Konate ‘very happy’ for Darwin Nunez after criticism
The 2024/25 campaign has been a tough one for Darwin Nunez as the Uruguay star has struggled to make an impact at Anfield this season.
As a result, Nunez was linked with a move to Al-Nassr in January and it is expected that the striker will depart the Merseyside club at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old still has a lot to offer Slot and highlighted this against PSG as the forward provided the assist for Harvey Elliott’s winner, with Ally McCoist praising Nunez for his role in the goal.

Following the game in Paris, Konate admitted that he is ‘very happy’ for the Uruguayan star after Nunez received a lot of criticism after his miss against Aston Villa last month.
“Darwin, I’m very happy for him because we can remember the game against Aston Villa, so many people criticised him because he missed a big opportunity – and today he came in and because of him we won,” Konate said via Liverpool.com. “Harvey as well. It’s great for us.”
The centre-back’s praising of his teammates did not stop there as the French star also had to comment on the magnificent performance of Alisson.
Ibrahima Konate shares what he wants to see from Alisson for the rest of the season
Alisson’s performance against PSG was likened to Jesus by Brest manager Eric Roy in the aftermath of the goalkeeper’s heroics in Paris.
This is not the first or last time the Brazilian star has saved the Reds and Konate is aware of that and has asked the 32-year-old to perform as he did at the Parc des Princes until the end of the season.
“Ooh la la! I’ll try to think but I don’t think so,” the French defender said when asked if he has ever seen a better goalkeeping performance than Alisson’s against PSG. “Thank you Ali today – he had a very great night and I hope we will have this Ali until the end of the season.”
Liverpool still have a lot of work to do against the Ligue 1 leaders next week at Anfield and Slot will be hoping that it will be a much quieter night for his goalkeeper.
