Arsenal And Liverpool Receive Transfer Boost As Club Drops Asking Price For World Cup Winning Winger

Arsenal transfer target Kingsley Coman’s asking price has been slashed by Bayern Munich ahead of the summer window.

The Gunners are expected to sign a winger in the upcoming transfer window, as they have struggled for depth at the position this season due to injuries to Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka amongst others.

Mikel Arteta will be keen to add proven attackers that can help contribute to winning a league title next season over the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.

One such winger, who has been linked with Arsenal, is Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich. According to BILD via The Standard, Bayern have dropped their asking price for Coman to just £30 million.

The Bundesliga club signed the Frenchman in 2017 from Serie A giants Juventus, and ever since, he has been consistently one of the best wingers in the German league.

Coman has made over 320 appearances for Bayern Munich, scoring 69 goals and providing 66 assists. He has no intention of slowing down either as this season he’s scored six goals and contributed four assists for Vincent Kompany’s side.

Arsenal face competition to sign Coman

The Gunners aren’t the only Premier League team to take an interest in the 28-year-old. Liverpool were linked to him in the summer, and could make a move for Coman this year.

Seeing as attacker Mo Salah is set to leave Anfield in the summer transfer window, Coman could help contribute to fill the void that the Egyptian could leave should he not sign an extension.

Liverpool enquired about Coman last summer, but instead opted to sign Federico Chiesa, who has made just eight appearances for Arne Slot’s side this season.

Coman could be a cheaper Nico Williams alternative

Arsenal have been heavily linked to signing Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, who has a £48 million release clause.

Williams is a much younger option with a high-potential, however, he is less proven than Coman, and would provide more of a risk.

The Spanish winger has made 22 appearances in La Liga this season, scoring three goals and providing five assists – similar numbers to Coman.
