Wataru Endo has been experiencing a difficult season at Liverpool.
The Japanese star was brought to Anfield ahead of the 2023/24 campaign and became a crucial member of the Reds’ squad last season as Jurgen Klopp was a fan of Endo’s attitude and performances.
Arne Slot has praised Endo on several occasions this season with the Dutch coach also pointing towards the midfielder’s mentality, while also complementing his attitude towards not playing much.
The Japan international has only been handed 723 minutes of action across 23 games this season, which is a lot less than the 2758 the 32-year-old expericned last season.
Ahead of Liverpool’s clash with PSG on Wednesday night, Endo admitted the difficulties he has faced at Liverpool throughout the current campaign, but that did not stop him from giving it his all once again in Paris.

Liverpool fans’ reaction to Wataru Endo after PSG performance
Endo’s recent performance against Newcastle received praise from Slot as the Japanese star came on for 13 minutes to help the Reds over the line.
A 19-minute cameo against Wolves last month saw the 32-year-old pick up the Man of the Match award, leading to Jamie Carragher adding to the Endo praise.
Slot similarly used the midfielder against PSG on Wednesday as the Japan international came on for 11 minutes to prevent the Ligue 1 leaders from breaking down the Reds’ defence.

Endo achieved his mission and after the full-time whistle, Liverpool fans serenaded the midfielder during his warm-down.
Endo’s reaction was captured by The Redmen TV, who would respond by waving to the away end in the Parc des Princes with the Liverpool star appreciating the support of his fans.
Wataru Endo has a big decision to make at Liverpool
With a contract at Liverpool until 2027, Endo has a decision to make on his future at Anfield this summer as the midfielder needs to decide whether he wants to join a club where he will play more.
The 32-year-old is clearly frustrated by the amount of action he has been getting this season with Carragher believing that Slot does not trust Endo, alongside several other stars.
Given the attitude he has shown, Liverpool will likely be happy to keep Endo around for another season as the Japanese star is a great fringe player to have available for selection.
Liverpool fans would be more than happy to see the veteran star at Anfield throughout the 2025/26 campaign, but it will come done to the player himself as to whether he remains on Merseyside or not.
