Everton will have a lot of decisions to make regarding their first team in the summer transfer window, not least the future of Jesper Lindstrom.

David Moyes’ return to Goodison Park has reinvigorated the team and has finally allowed the Merseyside outfit to get back on the right track after going through a rather dismal period over the last couple of years.

However, that doesn’t mean things are going to stay the same at Goodison Park for much longer.

The Toffees will have a fair few decisions to make regarding their players over the next few months, with Lindstrom among those with a question mark still hanging over where his future may lie.

Everton make potential decision to keep Lindstrom

Although the Napoli loanee wasn’t trusted by Sean Dyche when he was in charge, since Moyes has entered the frame, the Dane has often got into his first team over Jack Harrison.

Lindstrom’s versatility coupled with his keen eye for a pass are just two of the things that make him an ideal candidate for Moyes’ starting XI.

Team Position Points

Everton 16th 32

Wolves 17th 22

Ipswich 18th 17

Leicester 19th 17

Southampton 20th 9

The bottom five in the Premier League at the moment.

And, after some fresh news about Harrison’s situation from a report shared by LeedsUnited.news (4 March), it seems that Lindstrom could be set to stay.

Transfer insider Graeme Bailey has given his latest knowledge on the Englishman’s situation and said the following: “Leeds at this moment believe he is more likely to return than not, he has not done badly but with the change of manager and hierarchy, it seems they will go in another direction.

“Leeds are prepared for this and there will be no issues with seeing Harrison return in the Premier League, he is a Premier League player and his experience could be invaluable to Leeds next season.”

Moyes makes correct call on Harrison and Lindstrom

Although this update doesn’t necessarily guarantee that Everton are going to exercise their option to buy Lindstrom, the fact that Harrison is likely to return to Leeds certainly gives the Dane’s chances of a permanent deal a massive boost.

The attacker was brought in to try and rectify the Toffees’ attacking woes from the 2023/24 campaign but, in the end, he wasn’t given enough of a chance by Dyche to show how good he actually was.

There have been glimmers of impressive form throughout his career with the 2022/23 term a particular highlight as he contributed to 11 Bundesliga goals.

At the moment, Lindstrom hasn’t contributed to a goal or assist in the Premier League but he’s often been the pass before the assist and has started moves single-handedly.

Of course, only time will tell what the future holds but at the moment, Lindstrom seems like he could be on his way to making a permanent move to Goodison Park in the summer.

Which, at this moment in time, feels like a much better option than bringing Harrison in permanently.
