Durham Women welcome Newcastle United to Maiden Castle on Sunday, March 16 – in a big North East Derby Day clash!

We welcome the Magpies in our only first fixture of March, looking to keep our promotion push alive with a vital three points.

A huge crowd is expected in DH1 for the clash, with over 80% of tickets already sold for the clash! Limited tickets for home and away fans remain available HERE.

And ahead of the game, we’ve put together some FAQs to make your visit as enjoyable as possible:

When and where is Durham v Newcastle United taking place?

Durham v Newcastle United will take place on Sunday, March 16 with a 12:00pm kick-off.

The match will be held at Maiden Castle, DH1 3SE.

Can I still get a ticket for Durham v Newcastle United?

Yes! Limited tickets for this game remain available and can be secured by the following visiting our online ticketing site.

We would advise supporters to purchase quickly to avoid disappointment.

Tickets will NOT be available from the turnstiles on the day of the game.

Please note that this game IS included for 2024/25 Season Ticket Holders.

I have my ticket – where can I stand or sit in the ground?

All of our tickets are General Admission – meaning they grant you access to any area in the ground.

You can choose to either sit or stand, and of course you’re free to move around during the game too!

Some seats will be marked as reserved with seat stickers, so please do not sit in any of these. Remaining seating is allocated on a first come, first served basis.

I’ve ordered my Durham Women Half Season Ticket – can I collect it?

Yes – your Half Season Ticket can be collected at this fixture.

Season Tickets can be collected from the turnstile.

Please bring proof of purchase where possible.

Is there somewhere for me to park at Maiden Castle?

For this fixture, we have three car parks available for supporters.

Car Park 1 is situated at Maiden Castle and is just steps from the entrance to the ground.

Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

If Car Park 1 is full, supporters will be asked to park in Car Park 2 – situated at Houghall College just over the road.

Should this car park also reach capacity, then supporters will be directed to Car Park 3 at the Palatine Centre. This is approximately 15 minutes walk away from the ground.

All three car parks are indicated on the map below:

We would therefore advise all spectators to arrive in plenty of time to ensure that they arrive at the ground in time for kick-off, should they have to walk from Car Park 3.

We would ask fans to walk or utilise public transport where possible. CLICK HERE for details on public transport that serves the ground, as well as the beautiful walking routes to Maiden Castle from the city centre.

What time should I arrive for Durham v Newcastle United?

Supporters will be able to enter Maiden Castle from 10:30am, which is when the turnstiles will open.

Will I be able to get a seat in the ground?

Seating at Maiden Castle is available on a first come, first served basis. We would therefore recommend that any fan wishing to secure a seat arrive for the turnstiles opening.

We would also ask all supporters to not sit in any seats marked as reserved**.**

Please note that fans cannot reserve seats by placing coats etc. over them.

There are a number of areas available for supporters wishing to stand, offering a great view of the action.

What refreshments will be available?

Fat Frank’s Street Food Trucks will be providing food and drinks at the game. Hot and cold options will be available, with cash and card accepted. The catering unit will be situated next to the turnstiles immediately as you enter the ground.

Fans have requested additional catering options, so for this game we will also be joined by Twisted Chick, who will be serving up fresh and tasty buttermilk fried chicken! It’s sure to be a big hit with supporters, so make sure you give it a go!

The Club Room Bar and Cafe Nero will also be open from 9:00am, with the entrance just before the turnstile outside the ground. The bar houses our Club Shop and offers a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. There are also a range of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as gluten-free choices available here.

Please note the Club Shop will not open at 9am – just the cafe and bar.

What merchandise will be available?

A wide range of merchandise will be available – including some new lines for the new season!

You can purchase merchandise in our Club Shop, which will be situated in the Club Room Bar.

Is there a match day programme for Durham v Newcastle United?

A Match Day Programme is available for this fixture, priced at just £3!

The new-look design includes a range of fun features for full ages – make sure you pick yours up from the Club Shop or at the turnstile!

Those who have pre-ordered a match day programme should collect this from the turnstile on arrival.

Can I meet the players?

Of course!

Durham Women’s squad will be available for autographs, photographs and a chat after the game.

Just head to the front of the main stand once the final whistle has been blown!
